Four Ways West - Milwaukee Road - Photographing Route of the Hiawathas
The Milwaukee Road is one of my favorite 'fallen flags' and this title is a collection of Color photographs of Milwaukee's freight and passenger service through the years. The chapters are arrainged geographically beginning in the midwest and moving west. There is a good mix of mainline and branchline action. The Milwaukee Road operated many first-generation diesels on its trains and quite a few photographs feature them. Included are a few photos of the multiple unit EMD SW1s on branchlines in Minnesota. Overall many well-known photographers images were used in the title and the color reproduction is good.Hardcover, 144 pages, standard portrait format, Color photographs and illustrations.
