Eastern Seaboard Models - Pennsylvania 50' Boxcar, Class X58A - Penn Central 'Ex PRR'

These Pennsy-assembled 50' exterior-post boxcars were built from a variety of supplied components in the early 1960s, with the railroad eventually housing a roster of 2.565 cars. The X58 class and its variants were the signature freight car for the railroad in its final years. The Lehigh Valley also utilized 100 cars of this design. The majority of the class survived through Penn Central into Conrail, and some received the Norfolk Southern livery at the beginning of the 21st century.
The body and underframe are injection molded plastic, with etched brass roofwalk, brake platform and end platforms. Intricate and accurate detail is present throughout. The model rides at the prototypically-correct height above the rails, on ASF 70-ton Ride Control roller-bearing trucks fitted with low-profile metal wheelsets, and comes with the following equipment variations based on the prototype:
Simulated cushioned-underframe coupler pockets are integrated into the underframe. The model is equipped with Micro-Trains® #1015 coupler knuckles.Operation of this model over curved trackage of less than 10-inch radius is not recommended.

- Transitional body - no roofwalk, high brake gear, low ladders except for the A end
- Transitional body variant - no roofwalk, high brake gear, high ladders
