What is a Covered Hopper?
The covered hopper is a railroad freight, or rolling stock, designed to haul heavy dry loads. Items you may find in a covered hopper load include:
- Grain
- Dry cement
- Clay
- Sand
The covered hopper is a popular rolling stock car, they are seen regularly on the rail lines which makes them a great addition to any model railroad as well.
